Miljenko Jergović: What is the New Objectivity Today? - lecture
Distant Gaze: New Objectivity and Realisms in Central Europe (1925-1933)
As the final act of the international symposium on the occasion of the art exhibition Distant Gaze: New Objectivity and Realisms in Central Europe (1925-1933), the Vilenica 2024 laureate will lecture on a time a century separates us from, but in many ways eerily similar to our own. As a descendant of his grandfather from Tolmin, he will surely also talk about the TIGR resistance movement at the Kulturni dom Gorica. Jergović will also be the first lecturer of the Festival of Complexity, with which GO! 2025 deepens the efforts of the Ljubljana Manifesto on High-Level Reading.
The lecture will be held in Croatian with Slovenian and Italian translations.
